insulate jeld-wen sash kits better?

r3ventonNovember 18, 2012

It sounds like I still get a decent amount of sound infiltration on my jeld wen sash kits. They use a bulb seal on the side that doesnt appear to seal perfectly against the plastic slides on the side. I think only some real thin weatherstrip will do the trick. Any other ideas? I xant find bigger than 1/4" bulb seal. And its darn near a buck a foot. Picture is sideways

This is probably the biggest slight against sash packs (poor fitment).

Would you mind posting up some pictures? You will probably get some more feedback that way.

Which Series JW? Traditions, EX, Custom?

Traditions & EX are compression jamb liners if I remember correctly.

I shim the clips plumb before installing the jamb liners.

I agree that pictures will help.
