Need a ballpark estimate please

We had a 10x12 dining room wired.

1 center light with single switch

5 spotlights with single switch

5 inside outlets, 2 operated by a switch

4 outside outlets

2 outside lights with single switch to each

2 outside fans with single switch to each

He also did the wiring so the existing kitchen and living room lights can be turned on from the new room, a 3 way for one and a 4 way for the other.

It look him the better part of a day for him to do the wiring.

Before he started, we made it clear this was not a neighbor doing a favor and he said ok, he would let us pay him. But at the end of the day, he wouldn't take payment. I know he is being nice, and we all do things for each other, but he spent all day sweating in a hot room and attic and we want to pay him.

What would be a fair amount?

Is this guy actually an electrician or just a handyman?

Did you supply the materials or did he?

Rates vary widely from place to place, but an hourly rate for an electrician is probably somewhere in the range of $50 to $75.
