Need creative ideas for filling in knot holes

ctyboSeptember 26, 2007

I have some walnut T&G flooring -2nds- that I am considering using to panel a short wall. The wood is gorgeous, but being imperfect, has huge interesting holes that I would like to either fill in with some material or find something to use to line the back. My idea comes from some of the beautiful handmade bowls we find all around here in Colorado, some with resined turquoise, silver, copper, etc. I just don't know where to start! Please help if you have any idea what I'm after!! :) Thank you so much!

Below are some links to video clips showing the epoxy paste that I use, and how to color it.

Epoxy paste basics.

Note that this product is not crystal clear, but sort of translucent white. If you are going to embed objects, you would be better off with a liquid version. The advantage of the gel is that it doesn't sag or run.

You can find Mixols at local Woodcraft stores, at Touchup Depot, or Homestead Finishing.

Here is a link that might be useful: Coloring epoxy.
