Change to staircase wall

chowgirlAugust 12, 2009

We're looking into replacing our solid diagonal wall with banister that goes up our staircase to a railing with spindles. Is this an easy project for a competent contractor/carpenter, and is it a costly one? I am in the Northeast. Anyone do this and have before and after pics?

Thanks in advance.
