undercabinet lights...hide the wire

amav31May 10, 2008

I am planning to install a plug-in type undercabinet lights in my kitchen.

Is there a ingenious way to hide the little peice of wire that would show running from the cabinet to my backsplash tile's outlet. I will staple most of the wire under the cabinet, but still some wire shows while going down to the outlet.

Thanks for any tips

The wire is going to be visible. The only thought I would have would be to use some kind of Wiremold type product and faux paint it to match the tile.

You are not supposed to plug under cabinet lights into the small appliance branch circuits feeding the counter.
Have a new receptacle put in the back of the cabinet on the correct circuit.

If there is no bulkhead I like to mount the new receptacle above the cabinets, plug in the supplied plug strip up top, run the wire from the lights up thru the small gap between the cabinets before attaching the plugs to the end, then plug them in up top. If you DO have a bulkhead, then........what brickeyee said.

"wrong thread guys."

Correct answer and correct thread.
The OP is asking about how to hide the feed wire for under cabinet lighting that plugs into a kitchen counter outlet.

Permanently installed lighting is NOT allowed to connect to the kitchen counter receptacles.

I swear I'm not crazy. There were two posts on this thread yesterday about DVD's of heroes TV show and other TV related shows and nonsense. That's what I was responding to. They have since apparently been deleted.
