What White Paint Color Goes with Gray?
I'm painting our bathroom in horizontal gray and white stripes. Our tub and toilet is Kohler Country Grey which is a blue gray. It has been a nightmare trying to come up with a gray that didn't clash with the fixtures. I think we've finally settled on Benjamin Moore Silver Lake at 50% strength. Now I need to make a final decision on the white for the stripes and wood trim. I thought that choosing the white color would be easy compared to the gray. I should know better by now. I tried BM Simply White but it was too yellow next to our white (grayish-pink undertones) tile. Next, I tried BM White Dove but that seemed brownish yellow. I got two more samples, BM Oxford White and SW Snowbound - both bright whites. Snowbound leans pink and Oxford is lighter but looks a bit gray.
Does anyone know what shade of bright white is supposed to look best with gray? It seems there are are differing opinions on whether the gray should be matched with a gray white or a warmer white. At this point I'm almost tempted to just go with Beh'r Ultra Pure White because I'm tired of spending weeks trying to choose paint colors.
