I was wondering, are solid wood mahagony doors any good or better off with those composite fake wood like doors?
Here is a few samples of what I see on Ebay.

Just my opinion mind you but fiberglass doors are the way to go. Much more efficient with both hot and cold weather. I went with a therma-tru front door with sidelites. Quality, quality, quality. You can stain the fiberglass door and it looks better then the real wood trim.
Just my two cents, rredogg
Thanks for your personal input. I just like the thought of solid wood doors, but you are right, in my climate the fiberglass might be the way to go. I did see a catalog of Therm-a-tru doors and wondered how there were and $$ I also grabbed a Marvin catalog, but I think they are best to deal in windows and not doors.
That's a beautiful door. What do you think the best sealant would be? Minwax Helmsman? I was thinking of replacing my steel front door with something similar. The front door is protected by a porch, so it's not completely out in the elements.
