cornice placement

for our family room windows. We are ready to hang them but now we are not sure which placement would be better. Here is the room:

We have put cellular shades on the windows (the mid-afternoon light was making the room very hot and also super sunny because of the exposure on that side of the house).

So, we installed the cellular shades which we love and are great, and we have the cornice boards to cover up the not-very-attractive header. The windows are arched but not severely so (see picture). I planned to have the cornice boards installed with the arch on the top still showing. My husband thought we were covering up the arches to make the windows look squared. What do you think?

Excuse these pictures, he is just holding them in place since we haven't hung them yet....

Arch showing:

What do you think? We are kind of at an impasse as to what we should do! And we want this project finished....

I would opt for covering the arch - if you do not cover the arch you'll be blinded by the light coming through the arch when the blinds are closed.

Shutters would be ideal for these windows but big $$$$.
