need wood item identified

We have a large circular wood item that I got years ago, intending to make a table from. That has not happened. I was told it may be something to do with a mill/grinding stone. I would like to find a good home for it. Could you lead me to a site where I could post these pictures to see what the heck it is? I cannot identify the wood. inner diameter is 44 inches, width is 15 1/2.
I tried to add 2 pictures to show how the outer wood is scored to curve but can only add 1 picture here.

It could be a form for molding plastic etc.

After much research, I believe it was actually part of a grist mill. It was a sort of cover/edging around the grinding stones.
