MIlgard Tuscany Question

spydermurpheySeptember 11, 2010

We are in the process of a kitchen remodel and just had the new window installed. In the top left hand corner of each window pane, it appears the inside is not finished. There is some sort of gray lining covering the metal area, but stops short at the top left hand corner. There is a screw sticking through and the bare metal with the date and some other numbers stamped on it. Is this normal for Milgard windows - I think its the Tuscany Milgard window. Our previous window was completely finished inside, but it was not a Milgard. The installer says it is normal, but it just doesn't seem right to me. We are planning to install some more windows, but will have to look around and possibly go with another brand. I tried posting a picture, but was unable to do so - I got a message that the file was too large.

It's a poorly finished window spacer. The gray material is dessicant that is layered over a stainless steel spacer that is held together with screw. I'd ask the installer to order another sash.
