cupped hardwood

ranger11June 8, 2013

I installed 3" oak hardwood, and am now getting cupping.
I have had a flood in my home about 3 feet. I pulled all the old hard wood. The subfloor is 5' PLANKS WHICH I LEFT IN PLACE. What i did not do until now was put a moisture barrier over the sand/dirt in the crawl space. I also put insulation r19 with paper backing under the house in the bays(this was installed after the cupping) I am running fans
in the living area to try and dry the floors, any help is very much appreciated.

It will take significant time to dry out the sub-floor planks.

Laying replacement floors on them before they had dried completely stretches the time out even further.

The flooring has now absorbed some of the moisture.

You are looking at months to years for this to dry now.
