Frames and ways to hide small meh bathroom windows?

cinnamonsworldAugust 20, 2010

In the process of upgrading a bathroom and I'm wondering what solutions are ideal for this sort of thing: I have a not-so-large, high-on-the-wall frosted bathroom window that opens by sliding. I don't want to swap out the window itself, and ideally I'd like to get that little bit of light it provides ... but I don't want to see the window itself.

Are there things such as shadowbox frames that can fit over the window area, with a semitransparent sliding panel that lets you access the window behind it? (Would look almost Japanese I think.)

The other option might be plantation shutters, although it wouldn't preserve much of the light.
