Using Ceramic Tile on Outdoor Projects

wishdishSeptember 26, 2008

Can I use ceramic tile outdoors on pots or a birdbath? I have some 4 x 4 tile that I want to use, but I've read in some places that these are not for outdoors. Does that apply mainly to places that get hard freezes? I live in Dallas area. I'm tempted to go for it, but thought I'd check here first. Thanks.

Go for it. My DD lives in Carrollton, and her tower I made has lots of ceramic pieces, even the chalky stuff, and it's standing well after two or more yrs. Dallas weather isn't considered extreme IMO.

Once again I ditto Slow. I have used lots of low fire ceramic (chalky) and porcelain tiles with no problems.
