Help identifying a tree

tatumnolanApril 19, 2011

Can anyone help me identify this tree? It was cut from a neighbors lot. The heartwood looks lots like Walnut, but the leaves looked too waxy.

Thanks!

Looks like Pecan or Hickory (hard to tell with small leaves in a picture without a larger branch section).

Gently crush a leaf.
If it is walnut you will know instantly when you smell your fingers.

Tree forum might be a better place to ask.
