We want to build some shelves but would prefer a different shade of white than found in Home Depot. Is this possible?
What are you looking for for the substrate?
The problem is the sheets are large and need truck freight delivery, and a local supplier may not want to buy a large number to fill a small order.
The number of shades is also not usually very extensive (unless you are willing to order a railroad freight cars worth of material).
If HD has it, so does someone else, possibly in other available colors.
Thank you for the quick reply! :-)
How do people install shelves, cabinets, wainscoting, trim, etc and make it all the same color? Do they use plywood and paint it? The melamine is attractive because it is pre-drilled and wipes up easily  but perhaps that is not the way to go?
Why not pick up some laminate (Wilsonart, Formica, Nevamar, etc.) and glue it up on some substrate of choice? All you need is a saw, a router (however cheap), and a bearing flush cut bit.
Jeri - They use plywood or MDF and paint it.
