Preserving log stools

cheryltchenMarch 13, 2011

Hello,

I have two logs which were recently cut for me from a lumbar yard (not sure how dry they are) and each are about two feet tall and one foot in diameter that I'm looking to put in the entryway in my house for people to sit on while they put their shoes on. I am hoping to somehow preserve the log with the bark on but am unsure what I can do..paint on an epoxy, varnish, polyurethane, or something else?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you

Poly Ethylene Glycol, PEG.

The wood is soaked in the material and it fills in the cell structure and hardens.
