34 degree nails for nail gun

bluesharkFebruary 15, 2011

Hello,

Just bought a new nail gun that uses 34 degree nails. These exact nails seem to be very difficult to find in stores. I read on a review of the product that other nails with close enough angles have been used with success. I have seen 33 degree nails at Rona and similar stores at a good price.

Will 33 degree nails work OK without damaging my nail gun?

Thanks for your help.

Jacques.

I'm not going to be able to help you either way, but you should probably post the brand and model# of the gun you bought.

My guess that nails designed for the gun would be your best bet. Where are looking? You might need to find a store that caters to the building trades. Does the manufacturer have a list of dealers in your area?

I suspect that any nail that's collated in the same way (wire/plastic/paper) that's very close to the right angle will work. Probably the only way to know for sure is to try a strip, so ask in advance if you can return the almost full box.
