Basement wire

zippythechimpFebruary 5, 2010

I am redoing my basement using 2 x 3's for the walls. By code do I have to drill holes in the outside studs or can the wire be run between the stud and the outside wall ( there is a 1 inch space between the stud and wall).

As long as there's nothing back there that will damage the wire, yo can go behind the studs.

Note that you still must support (staple or whatever) the cable every 4.5'
