How D.I.Y. are replacement windows?

sparks66May 3, 2010

I've got 28 windows to replace in my house...mostly 31" x 60". I've done a lot of pretty involved projects (eg. built a screened in porch and just installed a prehung exterior door/framing etc).

Windows don't look like they'd be too hard to do but I'm curious about the time it will take. I know a pro with a crew can knock out 28 in a day or two but for a DIY'er what how long can I expect to spend on each window?

Your size sounds like you have wooden D/H's existing. They are so easy to replace. If you can build a screened in porch, you can do windows.

I'd say about one per hour at an easy pace.
