New and replacements--what looks like old aluminum?
We're doing a large addition plus replacing a few old windows. The look of the old windows is skinny aluminum, 50s style. The new ones ideally would be as minimal as possible, with as little visible frame as possible. We are in a mild climate but still need to meet CA (and my own personal) energy requirements.
My architect suggested Marvin Integrity. They're not bad but still seem bulky compared to the old windows, which are designed to just disappear and not be an actual design feature.
Should we be looking at steel windows? Any brands and lines we should add to our list? Thanks!
