Bedroom window number, size, position? West facing...

myclMay 1, 2014

Hi all!

Just wanting to get opinions on window size and positioning.

The windows for the bedrooms are upstairs and west facing, so potentially a lot of afternoon sun.

Would it be better to stick to the original floorplan and windows, or consider moving the windows elsewhere, e.g. in red? The red rectangles are possible bed positions.

Is is better to have two smaller windows or one larger window.

Would moving one of the small windows on the west to the north/south walls (opposing the entry doors) be a good idea?

Thanks in advance!

p.s. measurements are in millimetres (4000 mm = 4 metres ~ 13 feet).

Where is the home?

Nothing wrong with West Facing windows.

Figure out what makes best sense in terms of the room usage and put the windows there.
