Milgards Garden Window

swmotzApril 26, 2013

Do they make a good garden window? I saw one, I I like how it looks. But, I'm reading some stuff that makes me wonder if I'd be happy with Milgard.

Also, what about their SLIDING GLASS DOOR? Is that a good quality that I'd be happy with?

What model Sliding Door?

Most folks don't make their own Garden Window and I am not sure if Milgard does in this case or not.

Milgard seems to do a decent job of delivering a solid product.

Well, you know, I don't know what model. The way the guy talked it sounded like it was the only model. Obviously, that is not true. So, I will call on Monday and find out and let you know. Thanks.

The Milgard sliding glass door I was looking at was in their Tuscany line. I was told by the sales person that Tuscany had only one sliding glass door model. I hope this helps.

Concerning the Milgard garden window: It is made by Tru-Frame. I would be getting the vinyl option. Does anyone have any thoughts on the quality of their garden windows?

Thanks, Stephanie

Stephanie,

Most of the gardens I have seen are over engineered (a good thing for the consumer).

The performance numbers should be available on the glass units used although I am not sure they test them as a singular unit.

Air numbers should be good if they are installed well and sealed properly.

Tru Frame is a good solid window. I have one in my own home.

Thanks, Windowonwashington. Do you have any thoughts on the Tuscany sliding glass door? Or on Infinity's sliding glass door?

Take care, Stephanie
