Wire from circuit breaker to water shut off valve
I am about to start some remodeling in my basement and came across this wire which I have no idea of its purpose or use. It is a single insulated copper wire which extends from the circuit breaker directly to the water shut off valve in our basement. It does not enter a junction box or anything, but is just exposed copper wiring fastened by clamps to the pipes. What is this for, if anything? and is it something that can be removed?
