WIP Mosaic

1wandererJuly 3, 2014

We've been in our new house nearly 12 months now and it has been a constant work in progress.
We built and covered a pagola area at the back of the house and decided a water feature would be nice as we have always had one of some sort in previous houses.
So we have a wall. We bought an oblong planter which we filled in the drainage holes.
Then we needed a backing........
It is the middle of winter here so a bit cold outside.
I have been trying to do this when the weather has been OK (like today) but since I started a week ago we have had some filthy weather.
Anyway here is where I am at so far.

What a beautiful project. Great job. What is the girls image and the one on the right? Looks interesting. Love where it w/go. Just think of how much more room you have on that wall to add to this lovely piece.

That's going to look great there. Can't even imagine it being Winter when temps have been bumping 100 degrees last week in Mississippi.

Post a pic when finished.

That is adorable! Will look pretty against that blue wall.

One word of caution--since you've done the mosaic on plywood, be sure not to expose it to water. Plywood is porous, will expand and contract in the elements, and ultimately break your mosaic apart. I'd recommend bringing it indoors in the winter and be sure to not let it get rained on. You've done a beautiful job, you don't want to lose it to the elements!
