Pierce's Disease aftermath
I live in upstate SC and had a little vineyard a few miles away of 76 vines: Chancellor, Baco Noir, Foch, Vidal Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They all succumbed to PD, or were on the way to. It's been plowed under now. I've started a new, littler one of 20 vines, Chambourcin and Cynthiana (aka Norton) here at my house where I can keep eagle eye on it daily. They're supposedly either tolerant or resistant to PD.
Has anyone out there ever worked with these variatals? I planted about 6 weeks ago. The Chambourcin are going gangbusters, up out of blue-tubes, and forced my lazy self to finish building the trellis.
