colonial interior shutters

danielle2006March 15, 2012

Hi! I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice on what to look for when purchasing new windows. I plan on installing interior colonial-style cafe shutters and I want to make sure they would fit properly on today's windows. I plan to get wood interior/clad exterior windows in a bay and also a triple double-hung. The triple is replacing a single large picture window. Thanks!

Well, really you should have your windows installed and then buy your shutters. They make different types of frames for shutters. Z frames and L Frames etc.

Once your windows are in then you can decide on the frame style.

I usually do both at the same time, but I know how my windows will install. I usually go with a large Z-Frame with decorative moulding.
