painting vinyl windows?

catdavisFebruary 25, 2011

We were encouraged to use vinyl windows on the side and back of our home by our builder to cut cost. Unfortunately, we didn't fully understand that the color of these windows couldn't be changed at the time we agreed to use them. Our kitchen has two casement windows on either side of our cooktop. They are a beige color. I really don't want my paint choices for cabinetry and wall color to be dictated by the window color. Has anyone had luck painting the interior of vinyl windows? They are in a covered area that will not get direct sun. The outside would be left the factory beige.

Any helpful hints and photos are appreciated.

In theory, you could use one the spray paints that is intended for plastics, however, I am not sure how good that will look after the fact.

The factory applied finishes are more of a powder coating process.
