Silvergleem--Lead free solder

sandiencJune 5, 2008

Hey guys,

Has anybody used silvergleem lead fee solder?

I've only used 60/40 for all my stained glass projects, but my niece has a jewelry project for me to work on this weekend.

I'll be basically ,'tinning' several pieces for her.

I could sure use some advice.

Thanks Sandie

I haven't but I know a lady in town who uses it on salad spoons/forks and goblets and I think Nicethyme has done some jewelery...hearts

I didn't do my own soldering though TMG did, and I opted for plating so we didn't use the lead free.

I asked about this at Carls and someone said it definately takes some practise, required different temps and flows differently... so I'd guess you want to do some playing around before trying a good piece.
