Filling in the gaps in exterior windows

elyssabJanuary 21, 2010

The windows I bought to put in a brick exterior are somewhat smaller than the opening (couldn't get closer size). I need to fill in the exterior gap (sometimes 1.5 inches in width between the window and the brick). Some suggested PVC piping but my windows are a bronze (very dark brown). Any ideas? My contractor wants to use cement but I think its going to look awful. Please help me.

PVC piping? Are you sure they weren't suggesting an AZEK or similar PVC wood equivalent?

Post up a picture and you will get more suggestions.

this would be a great place for caulk... dont use HD grade ureathane or bathroom silicone. You will need a good nutural cure w/50% movement atleast. I would say Dow Corning 795, Dow Corning CWS...
