Thanks, I love making butterflies using pieces from a saucer or bread plate. Wedi board is a light weight backer board that is totally waterproof and can be used outside. Just make sure the adhesive you use is also for outside - such as thinset - don't use Weldbond.

I absolutely love these. I follow your blog on Google reader, and though I don't always post comments, I should say your work is often the inspiration for my projects. It was that butterfly you put in your entryway that had me thinking I could do "touches" on my garden wall, without covering the whole thing. Love plagerizing your ideas! LOL Love the colors on this one. I'm a sucker for lime green.

A question for you, Silva. How do you cut the vitreous glass tiles? I have a drawerful of just over 1/2" ones, huge assortment of colors.

Your beautiful piece is inspiring me, for sure. Do you use china plates? Yours look nice and thin. WOWSERS!

I use Leponitt wheeled nippers for just about everything, vitreous glass tile, plates, stained glass .... I like the finer china for plates; easier to cut and work with than the thicker stuff.
