LOOKING for: string beans - freshly picked

quirkpodJuly 20, 2001

I cant eat one more string bean. I grow oodles of em! I steam them in chicken broth and crushed garlic - it's wonderful. Today I ate last night's leftovers marinated in salad dressing. That's it - I am out of ideas. Anyone? PS: please dont give me any recipes with the follwing hated ingred's: green peppers, red peppers, olives, mushrooms, ICK! Thank you.

My favorite way to cook fresh beans is to roast 'em in the oven - simple, simple, simple!

Preheat oven to 425F.Place oven rack in top 3rd of oven.Lightly oil an enamelled or glass pan & spread 1# cleaned whole beans in a shallow layer.Roast 15 minutes.

These are so good plain, they don't need anything on 'em - good in salads as well.
