Wrought Iron Chairs (photo)

Got these wrought iron chairs several months ago at the "curbmall"! LOL (Countywide cleanup and they were on the side of the road) I'm just now getting around to doing something with them - I have three.

My question is this: can you buy "metal plate swivel type things" to go in under the seats? One of them is very rusty and doesn't swivel very well. Wondering if they can be taken apart and then welded back together.

Also, what would you suggest for seats on them? Perhaps a seat cut out of wood and then a padded cushion on top of that?

My Dad had some swivel stools (no backs) and used old tractor seats for the seat. Don't think that would look so good with your fancy scrolled back though.

I found a swivel seat part on eBay, so they are available. See linky.

Looking forward to seeing your finished chairs!!

Okay, thank you, Lydia! You jogged my mind up. NOW I remember seeing them in some of the "home" stores, etc. That's probably what I need to do then.

You're a good woman! LOL
