Washington walk - is this a good idea?
We will be in Washington DC on Saturday for the day. We'll arrive on Friday night and have all day Saturday in town before continuing on to Williamsburg.
We'd like to see the cherry trees and a few monuments. It looks like we can park at the Jefferson memorial, walk around the tidal basin to see the cherry trees on the way to the Washington memorial. Then we'll go along the mall to the WWII and Vietnam memorials, go to the Lincoln memorial, and head back down the other side of the tidal basin back to the Jefferson memorial and our car.
Is this a sound plan? Is this too much or not enough for one day? Also, are there paths along our intended route and is it easy to park near Jefferson? What about lunch? Is there anything to eat in the area?
Thanks for any help you can give.
