Sewing chair???

angiepangieOctober 9, 2013

I just moved my sewing machine from the dining room table, to the utility room, where I can look out the window, and set up all my supplies as a sewing room when I need instead of making a huge mess in the DR.

Problem is dining room chair is now a few inches too short to comfortable use the machine, as well as not moving easily due to lack of wheels.

I guess I need some sort of adjustable height chair or stool.

I have seen a cheap task chair with wheels in walmart- it looks to have very little padding, and would hurt to sit on after a bit.

I used to own a massage , or Dr's stool- which had more padding, but no back support. I could buy one of those again.

Do you need back support while sewing? I don't think I really use the chair back- but I am not so sure.

What do you guys use, and where did you get it?

Many thanks

I use a cheap office/computer chair that is adjustable height.

You can add a chair pad if you need one.

I went to an office furniture place and bought a used one...don't remember how much I paid. Mine is secretary style with low back support and no arms. I can't stand arms in my way when I'm pulling up to the counter and such.
