I have this liquid soap that I really like but it doesn't lather a lot and I end up using a lot.
What can I add as a lathering agent? I need something pH balanced and w/o alcohol.
I haven't made liquid soap, but I have read a fair bit on the subject.
I don't believe that you can enhance an already made soap. You would need to make the soap from scratch.
Liquid soap is made with potassium hydroxide rather than sodium hydroxide as for cold/hot processed soap which I have some experience.
You can't enhance the cold processed soap lather without adding additional sodium hydroxide and other oils; IE, coconut (is a good one).
This is why I believe that you cannot increase the lather in the liquid soap, without really making it yourself.
Oh well. I'll just have to be happy with what I have. I don't think I'm going to be able to find organic raw honey pH balanced anywhere else.
SLSA is a bubbling foaming agent that is used to make soaps, bubble bath, hand soap etc. You can use a bit as a percentage of your recipe and it will help add lather. Or perhaps you should adjust your recipe or just find a new one that you are happier with. I like SLSA though.
