Pattern and Fabric Advice For "Body Suit" Halloween Costume

mintguy83October 2, 2013

For anyone that's seen the most recent Superman movie, I'm looking to make/have made a General Zod "Body Suit" for halloween. I'm looking for economical Fabric suggustions that i can find at my local fabric stores, as well as what the correct pattern is for a "Body Suit" like this? Also if there are any tips/tricks I should tell to the tailor who stiches this up for me/takes my measurements. Thanks!

I doubt you'll find it cheaper to have a tailor make it, but maybe cost is not a concern.

Your links didn't work.

I found a costume for about fifty dollars. Three yards of spandex will likely cost $30 to $50, without a pattern ($10 to $20, I couldn't find a unitard for men) or any work from the tailor. Paying him $25 to $30 an hour to develop a pattern for you would be reasonable.

If your tailor doesn't know how to sew and needs "tips" from strangers, you've hired the wrong person for the job.
