I just got my shaving brushes in, so now I need a
"tried and true" recipe for shaving soap. M&P, please.
Jo- No recipe for ya that's tried and true. Sorry. Where'd ya get your brushes from?
We have a local ceramic/pottery shop here in town. Don't know where she gets her stuff from.
I made my partner a shaving soap that he loves... Unfortunately, I'm at my parents' house this week and the recipe is at home!! But, it wasn't really anything special - I added some oils (I used calendula-infused safflower oil) and sandalwood e.o.
I remember reading somewhere about adding clays to shaving soaps, but I'm not sure why/how much/etc...
I hope someone else can be more helpful! :)
Shaving Soap Recipe - look toward the bottom of the page.
Another Shaving Soap Recipe - about 1/2 way down the page.
You could also look for a shaving soap base - I think a couple on-line soap supply places sell it.
Thanks ladies for your suggestions. I am excited,I just found a recipe for shaving soap that I can make in my foamer bottles!
ooooh - share it, please?? Pretty please??
It's a recipe from a magazine,
BODY CARE BASICS, called Bay Rum Shaving Foam.
It uses 1 oz liquid antibacterial soap
FO-bay, allspice, and orange
yellow and caramel coloring
all mixed in a foamer bottle
I think I will try using bay rum FO that I received yesterday
