Craftsman Garage Door Opener- cant program Keyless Entry

pchamounDecember 12, 2006

I have a fairly new ( 1.5 years old) Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener ( model 130.53910). I have bought 3 Keyless Entry systems ( Security + with rolling code technology) as it says in the garage Door opener manual, followed the directions line by line and I could not get the Keyless entry to program? What could be the issue??

What is the model number on the keylesses you are buying. Security plus means rolling code technology and there are now two of them out there that operate on different frequencies and are not interchangeable. If your learn button is purple you need a 53754 sears keyless if it is red you need a 53684 model number.

Don, GDS, Sdello

Is there somewhere I can go to learn all these sears model numbers. I only know Liftmaster and the sears keyless model numbers by heart.

Thank you

doorguy06 as far as I know there is no cross reference for Sears. I sure wish there was.

hi doorguy

I have keyless entry model 53754, and I just checked and my learner button is red. I will go out tonight and get model 53684 and see if that works. Thanks

Does your keypad have wires going to the wall control?

To program the keypad, first unplug the garage door opener from the electrical outlet. Next, remove the nameplate from the console that the keypad plugs into and locate the program/operate switch. Flip the switch to program. Next, enter your desired four-digit PIN number into the keypad. Slide the switch back to operate and plug the garage door opener back in. The keypad should be programmed.

An old remote could sure be your problem. You need to eliminate it and then program your new remotes. Without model numbers though I am flying blind.
