couch seat backs are droopy

tresbelle3July 30, 2008

Hi! I don't really sew much but I have a question to anyone that might know. My couch has down pillow-backs that you rest your back on when you sit on it. They are not attached. Over the years (it's 7 years old) the down has really settled. I do fluff it up and turn it over but it is always drooping. Does anyone know of a remedy for this? Do people restuff with more or is there another thing I should put in there to make it a bit more stiff?

Thanks for any helpful thoughts. : )

If it's real down feathers you could toss them in the dryer with tennis balls or clean sneakers to plump. No heat necessary. If it's polyester filling you can open up the seam and restuff. It maybe a combo of polyester stuff and shredded foam. Both can be found at WalMart or Joann Fabrics or you favorite fabric shop.
