Removing large piece of marble

cookie8October 23, 2010

I really hate my fireplace. It is marble and rather ornate. As much as I don't like it, I think someone else may love of it so I don't really want to demolish it. I guess there is some heavy duty adhesive on the back and it sits on drywall. Do you think you can remove it and salvage it? Or just demo it? Sorry, but wasn't sure where to post this question. I would say the largest piece would be about six square feet each (two of them) and then three more about 1 square foot each.

To salvage it, I'd recommend getting a pro. He/she might do it for getting the marble in return.
