Sewing tiny clothes doesn't have to be frustrating. It's mostly a matter of which step you do first, second and so forth. I always sew sleeves in before I sew up side seams. I sew hems before closing the seam. Some work seems to go better if done by hand. It's mostly all about what works best for you. I've used a lot of trial and error. After all the amount of fabric is so small that if it doesn't work out you can almost always cut another piece. Start out with something simple and then try embellishments. You will be surprised at how quickly you get the hang of it.
