handle on woodburner frozen

anggi821October 19, 2011

x-posted on fireplace forum.....Does anyone have any thoughts on how to unfreeze the handle on my wood burner. It will not turn at all. I tried (unsuccessfully)to use wd40, but since it won't turn at all, that was useless. Thanks!

Try a propane torch and a tool to grab the handle while it is hot. Move back and forth until its free. When it cools down, WD and exercise. I did this to loosen my dampener in the fireplace.
