log home roof- HELP!

furletcityAugust 25, 2008

My roof is going on today! The under layment (2x4) of the roof is my exposed ceiling inside. We are installing panels which incorporate plywood with channels built up from foam to allow airflow. They are ACFoam crossvent panels. The contractor wanted to also put in a ridge vent but we didn't realize how terrible this would look from the inside. The black vent material will be totally exposed to our living room and hall. We have three ridge lines in the shape of a wide, short "H". The middle ridge vent was cut into the 2x4 already and I've stopped them from doing the other two. The contractor will cover up the opening inside with corner molding. Will this roof work out? TIA for any input

It may depend on how hot it will get considering you didn't allow for the rest of the venting.
