Is installing orange peel finish on the walls in my bathroom ..around the outside of the shower and wall where the sink would go...a good idea.. I hired a non licensed person.. and got a big surprise when i found out. that he put orange peel finish on my walls?? isnt it ,airy mud? or whipped plaster??? and doesnt it erode with water?? im worried...

The orange peel needs to be primed and top coated with satin, semigloss, gloss or eggshell paint. Not flat because its in a wet area. It's done all the time.

Plaster (which I'm guessing this is) properly cured is incredibly hard, not waterproof but if well painted, not damaged by high moisture.

You can install ceramic tile later if it is a hard plaster surface.
