How can i open my bathroom window without neighbours seeing me?

tlbean2004July 23, 2014

I have a bathroom with no bathroom fan.
Only the heat/ac vent.
When i take a shower i have to keep the door open or open the window so that everthing does not get all foggy.
If i leave the door open, the hot steam makes the air conditioner come on and raised the humidity in the house.
The house is less than 900 sf.
How can i open thewindow to let air in and out without the neighbors behind and beside me seeing me if im naked? lol
I have a curtain and blinds there but if the curtain is not moved to the side not much air is exchanged.
Is the somethingi can put on the outside of the window to block the view?
Please advise.

Rotate the blinds so there is air flow, but no sight line.

Is the shower near the window? You could reach out and close the curtain and/or blind before you get out of the shower, and open it again when you're dressed.

Or you could put up a cafe curtain. Is it a casement window or double-hung?

It is a single hung aluminum window.

Yes the shower is right next to the window but it will be annoying to reach out of the shower and deal with that.

I guess i can rotate the blinds and go outside of the window and makesure my neighbours cant see my booty. lol

put in a bath vent fan.

run it for 20 minutes after shower to remove
humidity.

I don't have curtains @ my bath window..but just acres
of woods behind me. someone would have to be 10'
or taller to see into the bathroom window.
and my dogs would alert me...

best of luck

Not hard to put in a vent fan. Make it so and keep your modesty intact. And have better moisture control too.

Vertical blinds can be rotated away for privacy.

LOL Tre!!!!

We don't have a fan in the bathroom either, and the window is always cracked open during the shower and when I'm getting ready. Afterwards it's opened wide.

We have a frosted window, but you can buy clear, frosted peel and stick for privacy.

"Vertical blinds can be rotated away for privacy."

And horizontal blinds can be closed...

I think the OP is "funning" us. lol

post up some selfies and we'll tell if it's an issue or not.

Seriously, I think it's pretty vain of people to think others have nothing better to do than peep n their neighbors.

At our summer house we had an outside shower stall attached to the house. The surround was a 6 ft stockade fence. My female cousins wouldn't ever use it because they were worried that people could see them from above. Like someone would rent a helicopter just to watch them take a shower. LOL

If i look out my windows at anytime, there is a person behind me that works in her garden, a lady next the her that has a screened in patio with the light always on, and another guy who sits outside and had kids.

If i can see them out my window than they will be able to see me naked. plus i like to listen to music while taking a shower. with the window open they may hear it an look to see where its coming from.

I think in the future i will consider having a bathroom fan installed.

It isn't always easy to install a bath fan. Our house is a split foyer, with the lower level completely finished. We would have to tear out the ceiling in our lower level bathroom to run a vent out through the wall, plus run the electrical to the wall switch. Possible, yes, but not easy.

In our upstairs bathroom, I could get into the attic to mount the fan, run the duct through the roof, and thread the electrical cable through the wall to the switch. Still not exactly easy, but done in a few hours.

The OP has not responded to the simple suggestion of closing the blinds that she says she has installed on the bathroom window.

Again, I think she's just 'funning' us.

closing the blinds or the curtains will greatly reduce the amount of fresh air that can transfer between the window.

Back in the day my mother solved this problem by planting a huge Oleander in front of the window. She left enough room to get back there for cleaning windows or painting. I suggest you find something on the outside to obscure the view.

You've gotta be kidding. You've just been "funning" us right along.

Crud, take a 20 minute shower with the blinds drawn and then open them...

I absolutely can't believe people are taking this thread seriously. The thread is really, "I have blinds on my window, how can I take a shower without the folks in back seeing me?"

If they want to. lol

They might prefer having their eyes put out with a hot poker????

Absolutely incredible!

I keep my blinds closed when required!!!!!

You've posted here as troll. I have blinds, how do I keep the neighbors from seeing my naked body when I'm showering????

You've gotta be pleased that so many people have posted responses to a joke...

Only the grille is on the interior, all else is on the outside.
