Media Room color: walls, ceiling, crown molding
Our new house will have a media room that is approximately 22' x 17'. DS has taken charge of the technical design and has decided on a projection TV with a drop down screen. DD has now jumped in on the actual decoration and color of the room. She wants to paint the walls with a Porter Paint color called Treasure Isle #302-5 (a deep sea green) and the ceiling a color two down on the same strip that is called Cassiopeia #302-3.
Both the projector and screen will be mounted on the ceiling that is 9' high. All of the other rooms in the house will have crown molding painted white but DS and DD think that the white painted crown molding will be distracting when they are trying to produce a theater effect with the dark walls and ceiling. Should we leave out the crown molding, paint it and the baseboards a dark color, or is there some other solution out there that will make everyone happy?
Thanks for your help.
