OK--let's talk wrinkled plastic

maddie_in_kyAugust 3, 2009

Hi all!

This is probably OT, but since there are so many wise folks on the board, I thought I'd ask here.

Does anyone know how to remove the fold lines from a plastic shower curtain? I just bought one, and it looked so great in the picture, but when I took it out of the plastic sleeve and hung it up, it looks terrible. (I have an outdoor plastic picnic table tablecloth that is the same way.)

Any suggestions?

Hang it -- gravity will work just fine :-) (along with a few warm showers .....)

If you're in a hurry, just leave the curtain hanging and use a hair blower on it (ala the window shrink wrap that is popular). Otherwise time and a few hot showers will solve your problem.

I agree...put it in the dryer on low heat for a couple of minutes. After washing mine, I dry it in the dryer for a bit.

All the above are methods I've successfully used in the past, but here's yet another. We have a round glass-topped table. I purchased an elasticized plastic tablecloth (fits tightly to the table top) for when we play cards or board games (it doesn't move once on the table). The only thing that removed the wrinkles, after trying the things mentioned above, was our Shark steam cleaner. Placed the tablecloth on the table and steamed them right out.

When I read the subject I was wondering if you were talking about Zsa Zsa Gabor or Joan Rivers!

All of the above is my idea for the original intent.
