Seeking yet more paint advice!
I totally appreciate the help I got here for my bedroom paint color. When the painters come to do that, I am also having our living room painted. Currently, this is the color:
The above picture is how the color looks most of the day. I neither love it nor hate it. What I do hate is how the color looks when the sun comes pouring in mid-afternoon or so (Western exposure). Then it turns neon like this:
I kind of like the yellow tones with the furniture so my first instinct was an off-white with a slight yellow undertone. But I have had samples on the walls, and even the slightest bit of yellow turns electric in the afternoon sun. It's amazing to me. So I have now ruled out anything with a yellow tone and I'm stumped. Especially with the fireplace stones thrown into the equation.
The color I chose will take up quite a bit of real estate, as the walls run through our entry and up to the bedroom level landing, and down to the lower level. Here's the idea:
Oh yes there is also a substantial overhang running around the house, so until the afternoon sun comes in the light is not plentiful despite the many windows.
Any ideas? As always, your suggestions are much appreciated!
