Any restrictions on painting exterior door in the cold?

inna0410December 7, 2006

I got my beautiful Pella primed steel door. I am in NYC, and the temperature outside is 30-45F. It just occured to me that maybe I will be unable to paint it because of the cold weather. Can anybody advise me on this? Thank you!

It should be explained on the label but few paints can be applied in such cold weather.

If the door isn't yet installed, you could paint it inside, let it cure for a few days, and then install.

Don't try painting outside until spring.
