How to reduce photo size before importing to Gardenweb gallery

summerstarSeptember 2, 2012

I'm trying to retrieve a photo from my Picasa software for posting here. All my photos are sized larger than the 5mb the photo gallery here allows. I thought I might be able to do this right within Picasa photo program or maybe in the Gardenweb photo gallery upload process, but so far I can't find any reference for this. I'm thinking I have to change the size in my camera's settings BEFORE I shoot a picture. This is disappointing. I have many nice pictures to chose from that I won't be able to post here. Let me know if I'm missing something!

You can do it within Picasa. Highlight your picture (or pictures) and from the tool bar at bottom of the screen choose "Export". From there you'll get options to control size, image quality, etc. 800 px is fine for GardenWeb.
